The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. | The fear of others lays a snare, but one who trusts in the Lord is secure. |
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. | All deeds are right in the sight of the doer, but the Lord weighs the heart. |
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. | Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints. |
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone. | So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. |
