Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.Those who live according to the flesh can never be pleasing to God.
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.Each of us must consider his neighbor’s good for the purpose of building him up.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things.
If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly; then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a day of joy and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way, serving your own interests, or attending to your own affairs; then you will find true happiness in the Lord, and I will enable you to ride upon the heights of the earth. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.And thus we can have confidence in him that if we ask anything that is in accordance with his will, he hears us.

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.And the world with all its enticements is passing away, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?Do I derive any pleasure from the death of the wicked? asks the Lord God. Would I not rather rejoice to see them turn away from their wickedness and live?
To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.To these God chose to make known how rich is the priceless glory that this mystery brings to the Gentiles—Christ in you, your hope of glory.
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good?And so now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, require of you but to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all of his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul, and to observe the commandments and the statutes that I am giving you today for your own good.
