- The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.
The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.
- For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
- The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver.
The heart of the wicked is of little worth. - Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
- That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.
- The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
- I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. - The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
- That he may guard the paths of justice,
and preserve the way of his saints. - Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
- The memory of the righteous is blessed,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - Having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.
- Who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.
- The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hope of the wicked will perish. - Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us.
Establish the work of our hands for us.
Yes, establish the work of our hands. - For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.
- You who love Yahweh, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of his saints.
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. - Children’s children are the crown of old men;
the glory of children is their parents. - Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
but the mouth of the wicked is perverse. - The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge,
but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. - Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
- Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand on the path of sinners,
nor sit in the seat of scoffers.
