A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.A gift opens doors for the giver and wins him access to the powerful.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.The tongue has the power over life and death; those who cherish it will enjoy its fruits.

Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.In much the same manner will wisdom be sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.Like a city that has been breached and made defenseless is the man devoid of self-control.

Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend, and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your father, and do not run to your brother’s house when troubles befall you; far better is a friend nearby than a brother who is far away.
