The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my savior,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried to my God for help;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry for help before Him came into His ears. - With the faithful You show Yourself faithful;
With the blameless You prove Yourself blameless. - For You light my lamp;
The Lord my God illumines my darkness. - As for God, His way is blameless;
The word of the Lord is refined;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - You have also given me the shield of Your salvation,
And Your right hand upholds me;
And Your gentleness makes me great.
You enlarge my steps under me,
And my feet have not slipped. - The heavens tell of the glory of God;
And their expanse declares the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge. - The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. - The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. - May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. - May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill your whole plan! - Some praise their chariots and some their horses,
But we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.
