Bible Verses about the Law

  • These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.
  • What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Far from it!
  • All things are permitted, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted, but not all things build people up.
  • In that I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, so that you may live and become numerous, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to take possession of it.
  • The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
  • This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success.
  • But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
  • Because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.
  • Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I am commanding you today, that the Lord your God will put you high above all the nations of the earth.
  • Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.
  • For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
  • But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting for those who fear Him,
    And His justice to the children’s children,
    To those who keep His covenant
    And remember His precepts, so as to do them.
  • And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?
  • Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness?
  • He has told you, mortal one, what is good;
    And what does the Lord require of you
    But to do justice, to love kindness,
    And to walk humbly with your God?
  • Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
  • Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.
  • But let justice roll out like waters,
    And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
  • For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law.
  • This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
  • With all my heart I have sought You;
    Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
  • Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.
  • I have chosen the faithful way;
    I have placed Your judgments before me.
  • Only be very careful to follow the commandment and the Law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God and walk in all His ways, and keep His commandments and cling to Him, and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister.
