Law (2/5)

  • And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister.
  • For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
  • If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
  • For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under the Law but under grace.
  • What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
  • The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.
  • Do your duty to the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to what is written in the Law of Moses, so that you may succeed in all that you do and wherever you turn.
  • Do not judge, so that you will not be judged.
  • For this, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves.
  • So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.
  • Those who love Your Law have great peace,
And nothing causes them to stumble.
  • If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.
  • The one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He remains in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
  • You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you.
  • But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.
  • Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
  • The wise of heart will receive commands,
But a babbling fool will come to ruin.
  • Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.
  • I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
  • We have sinned, we have done wrong, and acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.
  • Praise the Lord!
Blessed is a person who fears the Lord,
Who greatly delights in His commandments.
  • The conclusion, when everything has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.
  • There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you, judging your neighbor?
  • So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
