Bible Verses about 'Romans 6-23'
For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. | For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? | What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? |
Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? | Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? |
For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. | For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. |
And do not go on presenting the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body’s parts as instruments of righteousness for God. | Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. |
For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under the Law but under grace. | For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. |
What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Far from it! | What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! |
But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. | But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. |
What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” | What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” |
Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. | Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. |
For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. | Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. |
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. | The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. |
And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. | Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. |
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. | And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. |
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God. | For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. |
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” | The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” |
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. | The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. |
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. | I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. |
For the eagerly awaiting creation waits for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God. | For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. |
But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it. | But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. |
Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. | In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. |
And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. | And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. |
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. | And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. |
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? | What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? | He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? |
