Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
The afflictions of the righteous are many, But the Lord rescues him from them all.The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.
But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be in dread. But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”
For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.

He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore, And our pains that He carried; Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted, Struck down by God, and humiliated.Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
Then Job got up, tore his robe, and shaved his head; then he fell to the ground and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
The one who has found his life will lose it, and the one who has lost his life on My account will find it.Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
And He humbled you and let you go hungry, and fed you with the manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, in order to make you understand that man shall not live on bread alone, but man shall live on everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord.He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.
