| For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. | For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
| What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? |

| Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? | Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? |
| For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. | For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. |
| And do not go on presenting the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body’s parts as instruments of righteousness for God. | Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. |

| But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. | But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. |
| What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” | What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. |
| Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. | There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. |
| For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. | For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. |
| For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. | For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. |
| And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. | So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. |
| But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. | But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. |
| For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God. | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. |
| For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” | For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. |
| The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. |
| For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. | For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. |
| For the eagerly awaiting creation waits for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God. | For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. |
| But if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
| Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. | Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. |
| And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. | And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. |
| And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. | And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. |
| What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
| He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? | He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? |
