Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son. | So you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. |
You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain, for the Lord will not consider blameless those who take his name in vain. | You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain. |
