Should (3/4)

For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them. For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died. He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.
For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles, so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’
Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.
Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
Can a woman forget her nursing child, or show no compassion for the child of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Your walls are continually before me.
You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God.God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist, that no flesh should boast before God.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age.
I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous ordinances.I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart, when I learn your righteous judgments.
Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God's sight.Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing, but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.
If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you.But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also. This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous.
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.
Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’
May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.
As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent. The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent.
