- God is not a human being, that he should lie,

forsake the fear of the Almighty. - For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”
- But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated.
- Therefore God also highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
- The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
- What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
- I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
- In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
- No one, when tempted, should say, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one.
- I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live; moreover, it is God's gift that all should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil.
- My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. Take care that you yourselves are not tempted.
