Bible Verses about 'Should'
- God is not human, that he should lie,
or the son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act,
does he promise and then not fulfill it? - For from the beginning
you have heard the message
that we should love one another. - Train a child in the way he should go,
and he will not deviate from it, even in old age. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom should I be afraid? - I will instruct you
and guide you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you
and keep my eyes upon you. - One who despairs should have the support of his friends
even if he has forsaken the fear of the Almighty. - The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, as some think in terms of delay, but he is patient with you. It is not his wish that any should perish but rather that all should be brought to repentance.
- Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them.
- But who am I, and what are your people,
that we should be able to do this?
All things belong to you,
and everything that we have given you is from your hand. - And every tongue should proclaim
to the glory of God the Father:
Jesus Christ is Lord. - At dawn let me experience your kindness,
for in you I place my trust.
Show me the path I must walk,
for to you I lift up my soul. - Do I derive any pleasure from the death of the wicked? asks the Lord God. Would I not rather rejoice to see them turn away from their wickedness and live?
- However, to avoid the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
- However, each one of you should love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife should respect her husband.
- Out of the same mouth flow blessings and curses. This should not be so, my brethren.
- Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.
- Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above all other names,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name. - This, in fact, is what you have been called to do, because Christ himself suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his footsteps.
- I have made a covenant with my eyes
not to look with desire upon a virgin. - And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”

the Father has bestowed on us,
enabling us to be called the children of God,
and that is what we are.
If the world does not recognize us,
that is because it did not know him. - It is the will of God that you should lead a life of sanctity. You must refrain from sexual immorality. Each of you must learn to acquire a wife from pure and honorable motives, not to gratify passion like the Gentiles who do not know God.
- You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine.
- No one should seek his own advantage in preference to that of his neighbor.
- I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. - A husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise a wife should fulfill her conjugal obligations to her husband. For a wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- Even if an army encamps against me,
my heart will not succumb to fear;
even if war breaks out against me,
I will not have my trust shaken. - In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words.

that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - I understand that man’s greatest happiness is to be glad and do well throughout his life. And when we eat and drink and find satisfaction in all our labors, this is a gift of God.

your kindness, O Lord, raised me up. - Beloved,
since God loved us so much,
we should love one another. - What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer?
