- Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.
- For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.
- For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well. - My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - Banish anxiety from your mind, and put away pain from your body; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
- A cheerful heart is a good medicine,
but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. - Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body. - For, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
- And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.
- So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.
- But I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
- Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
- There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling.
- For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
- Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
- For all of us make many mistakes. Anyone who makes no mistakes in speaking is perfect, able to keep the whole body in check with a bridle.
- If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
- Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
- For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
- The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
- O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called Woman,
for out of Man this one was taken.”
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. - Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city.
