| God is not a human being, that he should lie, or a mortal, that he should change his mind. Has he promised, and will he not do it? Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? | God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? |
| For this is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. | For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |

| Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband. | Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. |

| See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. | What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! | What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. |

| In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. | So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. |
| No one, when tempted, should say, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one. | Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. |
| I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live; moreover, it is God's gift that all should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil. | I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. |
| My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. Take care that you yourselves are not tempted. | Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. |
| Those who withhold kindness from a friend forsake the fear of the Almighty. | To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. |
| But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated. | But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. |
| You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. | Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. |
