A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.Fools show their anger at once, but the prudent ignore an insult.
Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech.Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.Who are you to pass judgment on servants of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path.Keep straight the path of your feet, and all your ways will be sure.
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last he will stand upon the earth.
As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever. The sum of your word is truth; and every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever.
The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.The Lord is with you, while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. So then let us not fall asleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers.
So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.So that, just as sin exercised dominion in death, so grace might also exercise dominion through justification leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.Since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil. But test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I shall come out like gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.
Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff— they comfort me.
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away.
So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.
No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
