- Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins. - A perverse man sows strife,
And a whisperer separates the best of friends. - By pride comes nothing but strife,
But with the well-advised is wisdom. - It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
Since any fool can start a quarrel. - A fool’s lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows. - Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
- Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.Next verse! With image
