- A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - Hatred stirreth up strifes:
but love covereth all sins. - A fool's lips enter into contention,
and his mouth calleth for strokes. - Only by pride cometh contention:
but with the well advised is wisdom. - For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
- Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
- Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
