The face of the Lord is turned against those who do evil, to erase all memory of them from the earth.But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.
Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things.Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
Hence, I advise you to be guided by the Spirit, so that you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
Just as you do not know the path of the wind or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb, so you do not know the work of God, the Creator of all.Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace.So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
The crowds that preceded him and those that followed kept shouting: “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!”
The Lord is slow to anger but great in power, and he will never allow the guilty to escape punishment. He makes his way in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust beneath his feet.The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.
Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment.So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.
Above his head was inscribed the charge against him: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”A sign was fastened above Jesus’ head, announcing the charge against him. It read: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
May the favor of the Lord, our God, rest upon us. And may the work of our hands prosper— indeed, may the work of our hands prosper.And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools are those who despise wisdom and instruction.Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
I will place my rainbow in the clouds and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.
God blessed them and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth; subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the seas and over the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.”Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
You who abide in the shelter of the Most High, who rest in the shadow of the Almighty, say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I place my trust.”Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
Indeed, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Moses remained with the Lord for forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments, on the tablets.Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets.
And the good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the entire world as a testimony offered to all the nations. And then the end will come.And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is filled with his kindness.He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their parents.Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.
With our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, ignoring its shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
Who indeed conquers the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver. The Lord is our king; he is the one who will save us.For the Lord is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us.
