| “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be enough room for.” | Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. |

| A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. | A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. |
| For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you. | For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. |
| For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” | For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |
| But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. | For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. |
| Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another? | There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? |
| She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins. | And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. |
