Then the Lord God said, “See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out with his hand, and take fruit also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.
Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “no idol in the world really exists,” and that “there is no God but one.”Therefore, concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing at all in the world, and that there is no God but one.
Thus you shall keep my commandments and observe them: I am the Lord.So you shall keep My commandments, and do them; I am the Lord.

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God.Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
You are indeed my rock and my fortress; for your name's sake lead me and guide me.For You are my rock and my fortress; For the sake of Your name You will lead me and guide me.

While Peter was kept in prison, the church prayed fervently to God for him.So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made to God intensely by the church.
So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Turn, then, and live.“For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord God. “Therefore, repent and live!”
So then let us not fall asleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.So then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober.
Banish anxiety from your mind, and put away pain from your body; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.So remove sorrow from your heart and keep pain away from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting.

Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.Pay to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor.
But as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.But as for me, I will be on the watch for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. For six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your cattle, or your resident who stays with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
