Things (2/4)

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
“Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.
Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
