| O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. | Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. |
| But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. | But from there you shall seek Yahweh your God, and you will find him when you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. |
| Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. | You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder. |
