Bible Verses about 'Tongues'

Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke with other languages and prophesied. On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.
Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.
If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless. If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely. When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.
Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.
For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it.”For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.”
