- Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
- If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
- When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke with other languages and prophesied.
- Deliver my soul, Yahweh, from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
- In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience,
but he who restrains his lips does wisely. - Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise.
When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning. - For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
- For,
“He who would love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good.
Let him seek peace and pursue it.”
May Yahweh our God be with us as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us or forsake us. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”Next verse!With image
