If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken. | If, because of the Sabbath, you restrain your foot From doing as you wish on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a pleasure, and the holy day of the Lord honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word, Then you will take delight in the Lord, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. |
For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. | For You light my lamp; The Lord my God illumines my darkness. |
Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. | Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. |
Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. | Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. |
Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you. | Rid yourself of a deceitful mouth And keep devious speech far from you. |
Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established. | Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. |
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. | Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he grows older he will not abandon it. |
Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you. | Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will carry you! I have done it, and I will bear you; And I will carry you and I will save you. |
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. | We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters. |
He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea. | He will again take pity on us; He will trample on our wrongdoings. Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea. |
Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. | Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. |
Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.” | Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all guilt And receive us graciously, So that we may present the fruit of our lips.” |
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace. | The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord cause His face to shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His face to you, And give you peace. |
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand! | Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near. |
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. | For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. |
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. | No, I tell you, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. |
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. | Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. |
If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him. | If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him. |
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” | From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” |

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. | One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion. |
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. | For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. |
“If you will not hear, And if you will not take it to heart, To give glory to My name,” Says the Lord of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, And I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, Because you do not take it to heart.” | “If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of armies, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.” |
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. | Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. |
