| When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin. | When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. |

| But I will be merciful only if you stop your evil thoughts and deeds and start treating each other with justice; only if you stop exploiting foreigners, orphans, and widows; only if you stop your murdering; and only if you stop harming yourselves by worshiping idols. | Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. | And a great road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of Holiness. Evil-minded people will never travel on it. | God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. | Keep the Sabbath day holy. Don’t pursue your own interests on that day, but enjoy the Sabbath and speak of it with delight as the Lord’s holy day. I will give you great honor and satisfy you with the inheritance I promised to your ancestor Jacob.
