For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before!
What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness?Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
What are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!

In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being.Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true.If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.

When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you vow.When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.
