Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. | Praise the Lord! Blessed is a person who fears the Lord, Who greatly delights in His commandments. |
But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then. | But many who are first will be last; and the last, first. |
Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. | Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. Selah |
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. | Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way, Because of the person who carries out wicked schemes. |
Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. | Blessed are those who comply with His testimonies, And seek Him with all their heart. |
But the one who endures to the end will be saved. | But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. |
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. | Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. |
Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. | One who guards his mouth protects his life; One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. |
I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me. | Truly, truly I say to you, the one who receives anyone I send, receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. |
Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. | One who pays attention to the word will find good, And blessed is one who trusts in the Lord. |
Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. | Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. |
John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.” | And he would answer and say to them, “The one who has two tunics is to share with the one who has none; and the one who has food is to do likewise.” |
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. | And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. |

They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. | That they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. |
