Bible Verses about 'Words'

Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words. The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever.Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.”Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
Therefore, tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: No more delay! I will now do everything I have threatened. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!’Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord God.
Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets. And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass.
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
