Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape.
It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave.Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love.I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.

They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
