Would (2/3)

What then if you were to behold the Son of Man ascend to where he was before? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
Every day, united in spirit, they would assemble together in the temple. They would break bread in their homes and share their food with joyful and generous hearts as they praised God, and they were regarded with favor by all the people. And day by day the Lord added to those who were being saved. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
By faith Abraham also received the power of procreation, even though he was well past the age—and Sarah herself was barren—because he believed that the one who had made the promise would be faithful in fulfilling it.By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
Do I derive any pleasure from the death of the wicked? asks the Lord God. Would I not rather rejoice to see them turn away from their wickedness and live?Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, as he promised he would be. Come and see the place where he lay.”But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
For God would not be so unjust as to ignore your work and the love that you have shown for his name by the services you have rendered to the saints and still continue to render. For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
One who forgives a misdeed fosters friendship, but he who divulges it separates good friends.Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.
And yet he is aware of everywhere I go; if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold. My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established; I have followed his way and never turned aside. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.
He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him?He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
I did not hesitate to tell you what was for your benefit as I proclaimed the word to you and taught you publicly as well as from house to house. How I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house.
By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation.Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
To these God chose to make known how rich is the priceless glory that this mystery brings to the Gentiles—Christ in you, your hope of glory. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the prophets of that time proclaimed. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Forsake your evil ways and your evil deeds. But they refused to listen or to pay attention to me, says the Lord.Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.
This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave.
For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
And now, brethren, I want to remind you of the gospel I proclaimed to you, which you received and in which you stand firm. Through it you are also being saved, provided that you are holding fast to what I proclaimed to you. If not, then you have believed in vain. Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
Nor would someone light a lamp and then put it under a basket; rather, it is placed upon a lampstand so that it may afford light to all in the house. In the same way, your light must shine so that it can be seen by others; this will enable them to observe your good works and give praise to your Father in heaven.Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Therefore, we fasted and prayed to God to grant us a safe journey, and he answered our prayer. So we fasted and implored our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to the entire human race. It teaches us to reject godless ways and worldly desires, and in the present age to lead lives that are temperate, just, and godly. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.

For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
