If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. | For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. |
| If you know me, then you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him. You have seen him. | If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. |

| Which one of you, intending to build a tower, would not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has sufficient funds for its completion? | For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? |
| With his mouth the godless man seeks to ruin his neighbor, but knowledge enables the righteous to be delivered. | An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. |

| Every day, united in spirit, they would assemble together in the temple. They would break bread in their homes and share their food with joyful and generous hearts as they praised God, and they were regarded with favor by all the people. And day by day the Lord added to those who were being saved. | And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. |
