| My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? | In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. |
| But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. | What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” | What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. | Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. | For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. |
| Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. | For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. |
| Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends. | He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. |
| If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. | If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. |
| For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” | For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. |

| Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. | For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. |
| My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. | I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. |

| Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” | Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. |
| With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape. | An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. |
| I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love. | That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love. |
| Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? | Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? |
| Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! | What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? |
| And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. | But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. |
| For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. | For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. |
