- You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
- I love you, Lord;
you are my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety. - Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has done. - Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! - “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” - The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.
He rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. - Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.
Make your face shine down upon us.
Only then will we be saved. - The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble. - The righteous person faces many troubles,
but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. - I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.” - Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.
Make known his praise around the world. - Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. - He loves whatever is just and good;
the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. - And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.
- The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in those who tell the truth. - I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. - ‘I am the Lord your God,’ I told them. ‘Follow my decrees, pay attention to my regulations, and keep my Sabbath days holy, for they are a sign to remind you that I am the Lord your God.’
- Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth,
but only the Lord can give an understanding wife. - The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great,
and he never lets the guilty go unpunished.
He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm.
The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet. - And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.
- I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever. - Praise the Lord!
How joyful are those who fear the Lord
and delight in obeying his commands. - In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. - For you bless the godly, O Lord;
you surround them with your shield of love.
Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline;
whoever learns from correction is wise.
