| O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them. | Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness. |
| And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. | For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus. |
| For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. | You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace. |
| The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. | You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” | Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. |
| The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. | It is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it. |
| We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. | The mentioning of the righteous is a blessing, But the name of the wicked will rot. |
| If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector. | And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. |
