But they refused to listen or to pay attention to me, says the Lord. | Don’t you be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: Yahweh of Armies says, ‘Return now from your evil ways and from your evil doings;’ but they didn’t hear nor listen to me, says Yahweh. |
| And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too. | Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions. |
| Entrust everything that you do to the Lord, and your plans will turn out to be successful. | Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. |
| Trust wholeheartedly in the Lord rather than relying on your own intelligence. In everything you do, acknowledge him, and he will see that your paths are straight. | Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. |
| Be strong and courageous in your hearts, all you who place your hope in the Lord. | Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in Yahweh. |
| Commit your way to the Lord; place your trust in him, and he will act.
