| After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. | Make your ways known to me, O Lord; teach me your paths. | Make me know Your ways, Lord; Teach me Your paths. |
| However, if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you are upright in your dealings with your neighbor; if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you do not shed innocent blood in this place; and if you do not follow other gods and thereby cause your own destruction, then I will allow you to live in this place, in the land that I gave as a permanent gift to your fathers long ago. | For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other gods to your own ruin, then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever. |
| There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing secret that will not become known. | But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. |
| The birth of Jesus Christ occurred in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came to live together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. | Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit. |

| Therefore, prepare your minds for action. | Keep falsehood and lying far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but simply provide me with the food that I need. | Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion. |
| Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things. | For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. |
| Return and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: Thus says the Lord, the God of David, your father: I have heard, I have seen your tears.
