- But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever! - Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
- Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.
- Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
- Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable. - For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
