Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. | Who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting. |

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. | The angel answered the women, “Don’t be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.” |

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. | Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. |
And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. | Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver. |
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. | He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. |
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. | If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. |
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. | Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning. |
But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. | But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.” |
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. | If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. |
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. | Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry. |
And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. | Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. |
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. | Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. |
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. | Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. |
Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. | Children’s children are the crown of old men; the glory of children is their parents. |
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. | For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them. |
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. | Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen. |
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. | You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder. |
According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me. | According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted. Therefore they have forgotten me. |
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. | For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning. | “Yet even now,” says Yahweh, “turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.” |
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. | When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. |
