As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.As sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”
Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.They will never be hungry or thirsty any more. The sun won’t beat on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them and leads them to springs of life-giving waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.“Yet even now,” says Yahweh, “turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.”
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry. Don’t be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were.
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”
The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous.Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind. Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down. Yahweh loves the righteous.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord.Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, ‘Yahweh, the God of David your father, says, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day, you will go up to Yahweh’s house.”’
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.The vine has dried up, and the fig tree withered— the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all of the trees of the field are withered; for joy has withered away from the sons of men.
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have swept over me.
