| Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. | And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you. | The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. | The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. |
| Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched? | Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? |
| And keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn. | And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself. |
| What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? | What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? |
