- But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
- The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
- How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
“Your God reigns!” - He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord. - I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
- See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. - Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor. - You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you. - For, “Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.” - If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
- A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word! - But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
- Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to act. - The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
- But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile.
- For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
- How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Seek good, not evil,
that you may live.
Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you,
just as you say he is. - Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- A good name is more desirable than great riches;
to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. - But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”
- I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.
Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
