Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.” | Then Peter came up and said to Him, “Lord, how many times shall my brother sin against me and I still forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy-seven times.” |
Those who eat must not despise those who abstain, and those who abstain must not pass judgment on those who eat; for God has welcomed them. | The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. |

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. | But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. |
Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. | For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth. |
Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.” | Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.” |
But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.” | But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought that it was a ghost, and they cried out; for they all saw Him and were terrified. But immediately He spoke with them and said to them, “Take courage; it is I, do not be afraid.” |
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. | I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. |
While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. | While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. |
When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. | And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight. |
And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him. | And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him. |
All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us. | The one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He remains in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. |
For he has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well. | For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf. |
This God—his way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him. | As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is refined; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. |
Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. | For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. |
Over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.” | And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” |
For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. | For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. |
For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’ | For in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His descendants.’ |
Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds — his name is the Lord— be exultant before him. Father of orphans and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. | Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Exalt Him who rides through the deserts, Whose name is the Lord, and be jubilant before Him. A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy dwelling. |
And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. | This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. |
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death. | That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. |
This God—his way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him. | As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is refined; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. |
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. | For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. |
Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them. | The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. |
Only fear the Lord, and serve him faithfully with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you. | Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. |
But those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life. | But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life. |
