John 4:18 (3/4)

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.
Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
