| By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. | By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another. |

| Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. | Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. |
| Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” | Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” |
| Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” | So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be to you; just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” |
| Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. | All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. |
| If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. | Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. |
| This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. | My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. |
| And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. | And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. |
| For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. | For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another. |
| Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. | The one who has the Son has the life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. |
| Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” | Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” |
| This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. | By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit. |
| Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. | Who is the one who overcomes the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
| And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
| I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. | These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. |
| And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. | And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister. |
| When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. | And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment. |
| And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. | I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever. |
| Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. | So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. |
| Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.” | Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am going to be with you, and then I am going to Him who sent Me.” |
| The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. | The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever. |
| No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. | Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. |
| My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. | I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one. |
| If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. | If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him. |
