By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation. James 1:18	He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. creation truth life
However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. John 3:21	But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. light truth obedience

Honor your father and your mother so that your days may be lengthened in the land that the Lord your God, will give you. Exodus 20:12	Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you. God blessing family
Let no foul word ever pass your lips. Say only what is useful for edification, so that your words may benefit your listeners. Ephesians 4:29	Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. speaking gossip goodness
And now, dear children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be put to shame by him at his coming. 1 John 2:28	And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. trust second coming
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him. Ephesians 1:17	Asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. Spirit wisdom understanding
Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe. Hebrews 4:11	So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. sabbath obedience rest
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace when we are in need of help. Hebrews 4:16	So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. grace prayer mercy
I have made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them. John 17:26	I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them. love Jesus prayer
Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:27	I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. I have told you this so that in me you may be in peace. In the world you will endure suffering. But take courage! I have overcome the world. John 16:33	I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world is crucified to me and I to the world. Galatians 6:14	As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too. What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer? Romans 6:1-2	Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16	Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The Lord then said, “Very well. All that he has is in your power. However, you may not lay a hand upon him.” So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. Luke 8:16	No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. honesty holiness light
For his anger lasts for only a moment, while his goodwill endures for a lifetime. Weeping may last throughout the night, but at daybreak there is rejoicing. For so has the Lord commanded us to do, saying, ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles so that you may bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ Acts 13:47	For the Lord gave us this command when he said, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ evangelism salvation light
Therefore, you have no excuse, whoever you may be, when you pass judgment on others. For in judging others you condemn yourself, since you are doing the same things. Romans 2:1	You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. righteousness judgment neighbor
Above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth, or use any oaths at all. Let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No.” Otherwise you may be condemned. Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land who obey his commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; then perhaps you may find shelter on the day of the Lord’s anger. Zephaniah 2:3	Seek the Lord, all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you— protect you from his anger on that day of destruction. seeking protection humility
Peter answered, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38	Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works. 2 Corinthians 9:8	And God will generously provide all you need. For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that by perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we may continue to have hope.

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.
