Must (2/4)

Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up.We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who will be made as grass?I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear?
He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
But say the things which fit sound doctrine. As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
It shall be, when he is guilty of one of these, he shall confess that in which he has sinned. When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin.
He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
You shall diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.
‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
So then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be assigned any business. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.A newly married man must not be drafted into the army or be given any other official responsibilities. He must be free to spend one year at home, bringing happiness to the wife he has married.
But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ.Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given everything to you. But flesh with its life, that is, its blood, you shall not eat.I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.
One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds.Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
But just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior, because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
You shall most certainly not make gods of silver or gods of gold for yourselves to be alongside me.Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.
Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.
Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters and to be well-pleasing in all things, not contradicting, not stealing, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.Slaves must always obey their masters and do their best to please them. They must not talk back or steal, but must show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. Then they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive in every way.

You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you.Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you.
