- The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart triumphs,
And with my song I shall thank Him. - The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
And he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. - “I love You, Lord, my strength.”
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my savior,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish son is a grief to his mother. - My salvation and my glory rest on God;
The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. - My flesh and my heart may fail,
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - I delight to do Your will, my God;
Your Law is within my heart. - For You light my lamp;
The Lord my God illumines my darkness. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My refuge; I will not be shaken. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I will not be greatly shaken. - May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. - You are my hiding place and my shield;
I wait for Your word. - Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path. - But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of God’s grace.
- Turn to my rebuke,
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you. - My son, if your heart is wise,
My own heart also will be glad. - My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
For my hope is from Him. - Hear my prayer, Lord, and listen to my cry for help;
Do not be silent to my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
One who lives abroad, like all my fathers. - In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried to my God for help;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry for help before Him came into His ears. - My soul waits in silence for God alone;
From Him comes my salvation. - When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away
Through my groaning all day long. - The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.
- And I will put My Spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statutes, and are careful and follow My ordinances.
- You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the Lord.
- The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
